Panasonic, its U.S. research subsidiary and UCLA researchers developed a world model for mobile AI agents that predicts how actions change a device’s state using natural language, rather than predicting entire screens pixel by pixel. In the AndroidWorld evaluation reported by Panasonic, integrating the model raised task success from 46.9% to 54.3%. [1]

The team also introduced MobileWorld, a dataset of about 1.4 million examples, and MobileWorldBench, a benchmark for evaluating models’ predictions about mobile-device state changes. The research paper describes the approach as a way to help agents choose among possible actions; the reported success-rate result is from a benchmark evaluation and does not establish performance in everyday phone use.
